We invite you to bring your friends, family, colleagues, and fellow water advocates to the air-conditioned Oakshire Brewing Portland Beer Hall at 5013 NE 42nd Ave. in the Cully-Concordia neighborhood this Tuesday, July 15th, as the Portland Oakshire Brewing location welcomes WaterWatch of Oregon for a daylong Oakshire Inspires event benefitting our organization. While this is an all-day benefit, WaterWatch staff and board members will be on-site after work from 4 to 7 p.m.

Part of Oakshire’s ongoing support for local nonprofits, WaterWatch will receive $1 from each core pint sold, along with 10 percent of the day’s food sales. We look forward to enjoying a pint with you and talking more about our programs and work! See you then, and thanks again to our friends at Oakshire Brewing for their fantastic support.

Join WaterWatch of Oregon on Saturday, Aug. 2nd, for a special day at Muir Blueberry Farm in Hillsboro to pick your own blueberries as Muir Farms donates ALL its blueberry-picking sales from the day to WaterWatch of Oregon. Join WaterWatch staff as we table at the event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Be aware, summertime can become very hot in the Tualatin Valley — the northernmost extension of Oregon’s Willamette Valley growing region — so we encourage you to arrive early and dress for comfort. See you then!

Look for WaterWatch of Oregon to be in attendance as a sponsor of at the inaugural Rogue Spey Clave fly fishing event at Josephine County Griffin Park south of Grants Pass on Saturday, Aug. 23rd. Organized by southern Oregon guides and casting instructors Jon Hazlett and Dax Messett, this daylong event welcomes anglers of all abilities for a celebration of Rogue River fly fishing along with Spey casting presentations, tackle demos, casting instruction, fly tying demonstrations, and dozens of exhibitors and brands. Tickets go on sale this week for our 40th Anniversary Party and Annual Celebration of Oregon Rivers. Our biggest event of the year is set to be a special occasion as we reflect on our four decades of river conservation successes, and look to the next 40 years of WaterWatch and beyond — and we’re moving to a terrific indoor space at Castaway Portland, located just west of the Fremont Bridge in Downtown Portland at 1900 NW 18th Ave.
