WaterWatch’s 2025 Accomplishments Report Out Now

As the print edition of our 2025 Accomplishments Report begins to arrive in mailboxes, a PDF of our report is online now.

With the holiday season in full swing and the end of the year fast approaching, we’re thrilled to announce our 2025 Accomplishments Report will arrive shortly in mailboxes.

While there’s no doubt 2025 has been a difficult, challenging year, WaterWatch has been hard at work across Oregon the last 12 months and successfully racked up lasting accomplishments for our rivers, streams, lakes, and aquifers — and the fish, wildlife, and people who depend on them.

Among our 2025 accomplishments:

  • WaterWatch prevailed at the Oregon Supreme Court with a victory for instream water rights across the state.
  • As part of our Free the Rogue Campaign, our Pomeroy Dam Removal and Irrigation Improvement Project was completed on the Illinois River.
  • We defended Oregon’s rivers and streams in state, administrative, and federal courts, and stopped a groundwater limited license sought by a destination resort in the Deschutes Basin.
  • WaterWatch advocated for rivers on over 120 state water bills, and prevented damaging bills from moving forward in the legislature in Salem.
  • WaterWatch advocated in support of new instream water rights in the South Willamette, North Coast, and Mid-Coast river basins.
  • WaterWatch shaped statewide water strategy with the adoption of the Integrated Water Resources Strategy 2025 Plan.
  • We advanced our campaign to demand accountability and removal of Winchester Dam on the North Umpqua River.
  • WaterWatch remained engaged and active in our commitment to collaborative water planning processes around the state.

Your support and generous contributions helped sustain WaterWatch throughout 2025 so we could deliver this slate of accomplishments. Thank you!

While you can continue to stand with us by making an end-of-the-year gift, one of the most effective ways to ensure consistent funding for Oregon’s rivers throughout the year is by becoming a monthly sustaining member. Enroll online and choose the amount you wish to give each month to spread your tax-deductible contributions over the course of 12 months — it’s a big help.

You can also support WaterWatch with a qualified charitable distribution, become a River Defender with a legacy or planned gift, or consider a business partnership with WaterWatch.
