Another Busy Year Protecting Oregon’s Rivers and Waterways

Dec. 23, 2024

Happy holidays to you and your family! As WaterWatch recently detailed in our 2024 End of the Year Accomplishments report, now complemented by an online edition, it was another busy year.

Over the last several days we’ve shared updates on our work to free the North Umpqua River of Winchester Dam, our success in the Rogue River Basin with the removal of Pomeroy and Williams-Whalen dams, the state’s unanimous adoption of updated groundwater allocation rules, and WaterWatch’s support for new Instream Water Right applications in the basins of the Willamette River. Your support has enabled WaterWatch to continue fighting all year long for our state’s remarkable bounty of waterways.

As you make your end of the year giving decisions, consider WaterWatch’s year of accomplishments and invest in preserving Oregon’s waters in the year ahead as we celebrate our 40th anniversary with a gift to WaterWatch.

One particular way to support WaterWatch and the health and future of Oregon’s rivers, while at the same time sharing holiday cheer, is to dedicate a donation to a loved one or friend. Visit our online donation form and select either In Honor Of or In Memory Of, and enter the gift recipient’s name.

By making a year-end gift to WaterWatch, you’re helping to ensure our state’s cherished waterways are free-flowing, sustainably managed, and climate-resilient for the native fish, wildlife, people, and communities who depend on them.

Reach out to development officer Jesse Robbins for specific giving questions at jesse@waterwatch.org, or at (503) 295-4039, ext. 111. And thank you — we’re grateful for your ongoing support and partnership in this important work!
