Join WaterWatch This Weekend for ClackFest

WaterWatch will be along the banks of the Clackamas River east of Estacada this weekend as part of 40th annual Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival.

We’ve got a big weekend planned as WaterWatch of Oregon will be along the banks of the Clackamas River near Estacada as the only onsite nonprofit at the 40th annual ClackFest, shorthand for the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival, one the nation’s longest-running competitive whitewater events.

We’re looking forward to catching up with kayakers, rafters, paddle boarders, and packrafters from around the country this weekend beginning Friday, May 15th, and we hope to see you there as we connect with whitewater fans about our work to preserve streamflows in Oregon.

We’ll be onsite at the ClackFest “Vendor Village” location (map below) on the south end of the Carter Bridge over the Clackamas River on State Highway 224, and we’ll have plenty of WaterWatch stickers, information, good cheer, and our new WaterWatch ballcaps on sale for $25 each.

If you’re driving to the location on eastbound 224 from Estacada, Vendor Village is on the immediate right-hand side of the road at the south end of the bridge. There is no parking at this particular location for the public, but there are parking locations at several stops north and south of the Carter Bridge along Highway 224.

Get the full schedule for ClackFest here, and join us this weekend for a few hours or a whole day to see some the best, most exciting competitive whitewater action anywhere in the country on a river with flows preserved, in part, by WaterWatch of Oregon’s work and advocacy.

See you this weekend!
