Join Us for These Four WaterWatch Events This Month

As we head toward autumn in the wake of a long, hot summer, WaterWatch has several events happening this month we’d love for you to join us at — including two this Saturday the 12th. Saturday, September 12th

HR 655 Presentation at Forest Over Profits
WaterWatch communications manager Tommy Hough will give a presentation on HR 655 and take questions as part of a data center panel with Elaine Harvey from the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission this Saturday from 11:30 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Forest Over Profits counter-conference at the 350 PDX Climate Justice Warehouse, located at 3625 N. Mississippi Ave. in Portland.

Friends of Wallace Park Fall Festival
WaterWatch is partnering with WaterStrong for the third annual Friends of Wallace Park Fall Festival this Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wallace Park in Northwest Portland. Focused on ending drowning and promoting safer waters, WaterStrong makes life jacket drops at area parks and boat launches, and offers programs on water safety, first aid, and CPR. Join us for this fun, free, family event!

Wednesday, September 16th

“Paddling Across Time” Arctic Exploration with Lee Sessions
WaterWatch and the Lower Columbia Canoe Club welcome Portland’s own Lee Sessions, a veteran of over 35 Arctic canoe expeditions, as he presents Paddling Across Time, the story of Lee and his team’s expedition of Canada’s Hayes River north of the Arctic Circle last year. Join us for this free event this Wednesday, Sept. 16th, at 6:30 p.m. at Hopworks Brewing at 2944 SE Powell Blvd.

Tuesday, September 22nd

Jesse Lance Robbins Book Celebration
Join WaterWatch at Steeplejack Brewing in Portland on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. as we welcome author and WaterWatch board member Jesse Lance Robbins for a celebration of his book The Best Fly Fishing is Everywhere. Former WaterWatch executive director John DeVoe will lead a Q&A and conversation with Jesse at this free event, with proceeds from sales of Jesse’s book benefiting WaterWatch.

24th Annual Celebration of Oregon Rivers — Saturday, November 7th

WaterWatch Annual Auction and Celebration
And of course, Saturday, Nov. 7th, will be here before we know it, so purchase your tickets now for our 24th Annual Celebration of Oregon Rivers on Nov. 7th at Castaway Portland, just north of Downtown at 1900 NW 18th Ave. Join our WaterWatch community of river advocates, anglers, conservationists, and water fans for a fun, inspirational evening to celebrate and support WaterWatch of Oregon as we prepare for 2027.
