WaterWatch of Oregon Announces Hire of Brian Posewitz

Brian Posewitz

Brian Posewitz has joined WaterWatch as Staff Attorney.

WaterWatch is thrilled to announce longtime general litigation and water attorney Brian Posewitz has joined the organization as a staff attorney, starting in February 2015.

An attorney in Oregon since 1991, Brian brings 24 years of legal experience with him to help WaterWatch protect and restore flows in Oregon’s rivers and streams. From 1991 through 2005, he worked primarily in general business litigation for the Portland firm of Tonkon Torp LLP. He had his own law practice from 2006 through 2014. In addition to his work in civil litigation, Brian handled a variety of water-related cases for WaterWatch and private clients. He is also a former member of WaterWatch’s Board of Directors.

Brian has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Willamette University and a law degree from the University of Oregon. He grew up in Helena, Montana.

“Brian understands the importance of healthy rivers and balanced water policies to Oregon’s environment, economy, and way of life. We’re delighted to have Brian join our team,” said WaterWatch Executive Director John DeVoe.
